Question by Anthony: How do you I go about becoming a film maker?
Hey im 14 years old and i know it’s a little early to be thinking about all this but i wanted to know how i would become a filmmaker. I have been making little backyard films each about a half hour long for about 5 years now. I have always been good with “coming up with ideas on the spot.” And i have always LOVED to write stories. I wrote a lot of suspense stories and stories about sports and they have all gotten an A. And i plan to take a film effects class in high school. I live in Massachusetts and i know thats not a good place to start a career in the movie business but i want to give it a shot. It has been my dream to either become a baseball player or a filmmaker and writer and i think that the filmmaking is more realistic. But give me some advice. How would i go about doing it? How should i make myself noticable?
yea im not saying im amazing, im just saying that i have a little experience and want to take that experience and put it into something i really like doing. Im in no way saying that everything i do is amazing..

Not being rude , but this dream of your is extremely unrealistic.
It takes years and years of commitment and the right contacts and money to become a noticeable director a good example of how someone was given a shot was the latest Michael Caine film , Sir Michael Caine was asked to play the lead role in the film Harry Brown , director Daniel Barber isnt well known at all , but caine gave him a shot and now the movie has become a big success , you can either make it by extreme luck and talent or having extreme money and talent , or extreme money.
The reality is you need to be able to be skeptical about your own work , if you think everything to do is amazing , its more than likely not going to be to everyone else , its just the ego talking.
Not once did i say you was egotistic , i was just telling you if you are , its a bad way to be , its a nice dream you have , and i for one surely do hope you become what you want , sometimes the underdog gets a shot and sometimes the underdog doesn’t , just make sure you take media studies in collage and drama and go from there.
Also doing some acting is always good , look for small independent films you can take part in , its a start and a step in the right direction.
