Question by Heiid S: Should I try film editing?
I’m not a Film Major and I haven’t taken any classes for film editing yet, so I figure that maybe I shouldn’t try it out since I don’t have very much experience and may not be very good at it.
But I’m asking because I had a lot of fun making three “music videos” (film clips along with music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGuCDYTVY6Q) on iMovie. When I say “fun” I mean that I enjoyed the hours and work I put into it. Despite how tiring it became, it felt like time flew by and I didn’t regret the time spent.
I have no idea how good they really are, and maybe the program (iMovie) I used did most of the work for me, so that could be why I enjoyed it?
So, should I at least try to taking some beginning film production classes to see if I can do editing in the future or is it something that I may waste time trying to learn about, that I could spend doing something better?

I love editing films. I suggest trying it out to see if you like it. It can be very boring at times, but to see the end result and have total control over it is a lot of fun.
