Question by HP: Who are the most “humanistic” filmmakers?
As in, you can really tell they love the characters they create, and people in general.
I’d definitely say Francois Truffaut. Also Wes Anderson, who I’d say does more “homages” than Quentin Tarantino. Their characters are sometimes pretty melancholy, or failure, but it’s never out of pessimism.
Also, I think both write great roles for children.
