This Ironbound film was an official selection for the Sundance Film Festival. “The Linguists” is a documentary about two linguists on a quest to document endangered languages before the last speakers are gone. In the rugged landscapes of Siberia, India, and Bolivia, their resolve is tested by institutionalized racism and violent economic unrest. This 70-minute documentary is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Grants No. 0452417 and 0438121 and the Nonprofit Media Group. This event featured a screening of the film, followed by a Q&A session with directors Jeremy Newberger, Daniel Miller, and the linguist Gregory Anderson.
