Question by The Rabbit Who Could Fly: Why did people start believing the Blair Witch was real?
Well im writing a urban legend paper and I chose the Blair Witch Project and how its NOT based on real footage, its all fake.
But I don’t know what to put for how it all started….
The urban legend is:
“The Blair Witch Project is based on real documentary footage shot by three filmmakers who mysteriously disappeared.”
And the status is false.
So what do I put for how it all started and the possible origins?
I need a year with each, so is their like I certain year when certain rumors started about the blair witch?
I’m not sure…the paper im writing for a speech is confusing.

The movie itself posits what occurred as footage of actual events. That’s what’s so scary. You feel like you’re watching a dull kid made documentary and then it gets WEIRD. So maybe because of how the movie is, in the telling of it, it got mixed up like when kids play ‘Operator.’
