Question by perryinjax: How can I get the address in Vietnam to the mother of Heidi Bub in “Daughter From Danang”?
I would like to send a “care package” to the mother of the girl in the PBS documentary.
I can easily goto any church or homeless shelter or food bank or thrift store and get some items that they would appreciate and it would cost me next to nothing but a little time is all.
I would like to help that woman since her daughter is “too offended” to do so…even after 5 years.
Please help me to find the address of the Vietnamese woman named;
Mai Thi Kim
or the email address of the journalist named Tran Tuong Nhu that accompanied Heidi Bub to Vietnam…..or the email address to the filmmakers Gail Dolgin and Vicente Franc?
I would like to send some Salvation Army crap to the distressed mother in Vietnam.
I will stand up and be the “family benefactor” at least as much as to send some crap from the food bank or some clothes from the Thrift store or some cheap stuff from WalMart.
Please do not think me too judgemental on the daughter Heidi Bub….she has her own family and money problems I can understand this fully as I am retired trying to live on Social Security alone and it is not even enough to eat. But to be so very fortunate to have been born in our great country…with such better living conditions alone…gives me the ordinary for here opportunity to gain lots of free or next to free stuff to send to the lady in Vietnam..
To live in Florida, USA gives me access to lots of free or cheap things that I could UPS in a “care package” to the mother that made that sacrifice for her daughter all those years ago… I think I can spend an hour per month to collect some crap to stuff into a shoebox for the poor old woman that felt pain for 22 years now to feel even more pain from the visit and then abandonment. After watching the documentary, I am thinking the poor old woman probably should regret giving Heidi the opportunity to live in our country instead of to have to grow up in that slum.
I can help the old lady without to spend one dime almost…just to take advantage of my wonderful countries heart for helping the less fortunate and the hungry. Even though I was not sent here at the sacrifice of the old lady. I will help just because I am lucky enough to have access to all the charity organizations that will be glad to help me build a little care package once a month, just because of our great country’s immense wealth/ability to do so, compared to Vietnam or anywhere else over there.
Please help me to get the address to the mother, Mai Thi Kim. Maybe I can explain to her the cultural difference and ease her pain from making a second mistake.
I hope I don’t seem to judgmental on the Heidi daughter…as I cannot put myself into her shoes.
But in my own…I think i have a few hours to spend per month for the old lady in Vietnam…just to take advantage of my good fortune to live here in the good ol’ USA, and send a little of it over there.
Thank you in advance for your time,
Perry in FL
