Question by Yasmin: 35mm footage film for a 16mm film edit?
I am planning to produce a short film and I was thinking to use some footages as well. This short will be shot in 16mm film. The question is that, can I use a 35mm footage during editing. Avid software would be used for editing. Thanks

Avid is for editing video I thought.
We used to combine 35mm and 16mm in documentaries, but we had one light 16mm work prints made from the 35mm. It was much less costly to rent a 16mm editing booth just to start. Once the whole film was complete, we then had a 35mm print made from the original negatives (or in the case of film that was not ours, a duplicate neg) to make a release print of the edited film
My guess it you have video copies of all your original film (with sycn and time stamp on the tape) and after you have edited the video, edit the film. Is that right?
