Question by Justin: For film, music, and game-development, what are the best colleges/universities I should attend?
I’m 16, turning 17 in a month. I have big dreams of being involved in the film industry, video-game industry, and a professional musician. I’m looking for a college/university where I can focus on these fields after high school.
I want to be a successful movie director, video-game creator, and some sort of a rock star/music producer. I don’t want to be working for somebody else in a dead-end job. I understand it’s difficult, but hell, I know I’ll do good. I need the opportunity to make this living and show off my potential. Because knowing me, I’d rather die before giving up.
I don’t believe in “difficulties”. I believe practicing will get you anywhere. When people say, “It’s so hard to become successful in ______”, I just ignore them because I know they’re not as determined as I am. That’s why I’m trying to find the perfect school for me. I need the opportunity to excel in a school where I can be taken seriously. I’m living life to my fullest, following my passions and not giving a damn what others say.
Problem is, I get low grades in school. I just failed summer school for grade 12 University English (not make-up course, but reach ahead), and believe it or not, the teacher asked if I had a learning disability.
I look through history and I see how Einstein was considered mentally retarded in high school. We learn about all those successful high school drop-outs that made it big in Hollywood. I feel like I’m an exception like they were (not implying that I’m going to drop-out).
Location and money are not an issue for me. I’m not searching for a local school. I want to leave home and experience living alone. I’d be willing to live anywhere (preferably Vancouver or New York, but does not matter). And like I said, money is not an issue. I’m aboriginal, and my band will cover my educational fees and living expenses (I believe so).
So I need to take this advantage. If anyone can recommend the best schools for film, game, and music, I would heavily appreciate it!
