USC limits the number of film major transfer students. Students who want a master’s degree apply as new students, not transfers. NYU is extremely competitive for admission to its graduate film program. Most people who earn bachelor’s or master’s degrees in film production, even at USC and NYU, never find steady work in the film industry. There is too much competition.
