Troubled movie “The Hobbit”, which is already embroiled in a union row, suffered a further set-back after fire destroyed parts of a key studio in New Zealand.

Allen Park and film studio part ways; facility moves to Detroit
A film studio is leaving Allen Park less than two years after it came to town to much fanfare and four months after the city threatened to evict it from city property. Unity Studios says it is temporarily relocating to Detroit’s TechTown, the business incubator in a former car dealership on Cass Avenue in Midtown. The studio is searching for a new permanent site in Detroit.

Samuel A. Taylor’s romantic comedy Sabrina Fair, better known as the Audrey Hepburn film “Sabrina,” gets a fresh twist at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC, Oct. 1-24. The title role of a chauffeur’s daughter — who is the object of affection from two rich brothers — is played by black actress Susan Heyward.
