Digital SLR Camera

What is a digital SLR camera? It is a still photography camera that a filmmaker picked up and turned into a movie camera instead. Why did the filmmaker do this? Because the image looks comparable to major cinema cameras.

Filmmakers have been perplexed about achieving the film look with video cameras. It just wasn’t possible. Then came along 35 mm lens adapters which lengthened the focal point of light, created a shallow depth of field and made the color spectrum look vivid. However, lens adapters also made the camera twice as long and unwieldy.

The great thing about DSLR cameras is they are very small, can achieve the film look and are light. They can shoot in confined spaces and can record several hours of footage in a single setting. Why weren’t these cameras around before? The answer is technology. Computer processors weren’t able to capture enough information that could result in an image that looks like film. This has now changed and it is also changing the world of filmmaking.

Now anyone can become famous as a filmmaker because there is no longer a barrier to break into Hollywood. If your film is good and you submit it to festivals, you can be signed by a Hollywood studio overnight. Christopher Nolan, a famous filmmaker, produced his first film for $ 6,000 and was signed by a Hollywood studio next to direct a $ 4,000,000 film. The difference between you and Chris is he worked with film and you can work with a DSLR camera that only costs a few hundred dollars. Just imagine the possibilities.

Question by dang: Your opinon: What’s a good video camera for filmmaking and general filming?
I have been filmmaking for 10 years and need a new camcorder. I have never had any professional equipment, just the basics. But now I need a new camera. I want one that is good for making short films, but also portable enough for general use. It must also be easy to transfer the video to computer for editing. Preferred price: under $ 3000. But please share any thoughts you have. Thanks for the help!

Pay a little bit more and go for the Canon XH-A1, you will not be disappointed. I hear the cinematic look is stunning on the camera.
