Question by gypsy tea: what’s the most effective way to learn film editing?
I’ve made plenty of independent films, but i want professional training. where can I learn the everything i need to know about film editing to get a job in the real world. please don’t say film school.thats not an option.

If you have experience from some GOOD independant films and also some theoretical background, I guess it could be worth a shot just to ask around at some studio if you could do some intern work for them. You know, doing the usual bring coffies and do the the monkey work on the film material, so the real editors don’t have to. Like batch capturing etc.
If you are happy doing anything and starting from the bottom, I don’t think the smaller size studios would really turn down some cheap labour.
