Question by MissDeviance: Good software for creating Japanese anime / comic book style animation?
What’s a good digital animation software program to use for creating animation in the style of Japanese anime or comic books? I have a Watcom tablet and Adobe Illustrator and am a pretty decent anime / comic book artist for single drawings.
But a friend of mine asked if I could make them an animated music video with my artwork. Other than drawing it frame by frame like the old fashioned cell wall, I’d like to use software that maybe lets me enter basic key frame drawings and it extrapolates the animation between them.
I know Flash does some very basic animation, but I’m really looking for an indie filmmaker’s quality results, but still under $ 1000. I have access to other digital filmmaking software (Adobe) so it would be great if it’s compatible.
But any good software suggestions for animation are appreciated!

2-d is still drawn frame by frame and colored in photoshop. they take some liberties with the publisher but not many. it takes teams of artists to do this stuff
