A film producer does all pre and post production for a film. I.e. casting, buying script’s rights, helping acquire locations, post-production: press junkets advertising etc. Summit is a Production company they pay to put the films in theaters etc.
a film director is in charge of the over all look and feel of the film focusing mainly on the direction of which the actors take for each character and how he/she will use the camera to capture these actions. a director of film will work very closely with their cinematographer and usually is a cinematographer for the film also.
On occasion a film’s director and producer are one in the same such as Steven Spielberg who has produced and directed hundreds of films including the last indiana jones film.
