Question by BigBadWolf: trap set up by MPAA, and RIAA to catch P2P???? is it Legal???
I ran into this yesterday…you can read the whole thing yourselves @ http://torrentfreak.com/mediadefender-emails-leaked-070915/
But in short this company is setting up fake vid up load sites to catch file/vid sharing peeps! Isn’t that entrapment and how can they get away with it????
here’s the claim……
“””Media Defender, a notorious anti piracy gang working for the MPAA, RIAA and several independent media production companies, just launched their very own video upload service called “miivi.com”. The sole purpose of the site is to trap people into uploading copyrighted material, and bust them for doing so.”””

It seems to me that atleast in the states. An non government (aka private) company can play police as they please. Most of the time, they don’t sue, they just scare of people (schools) by saying they will sue.
Were i’m from, that illegal, in the states, it appear it isn’t.
