Question by YoungFabulous&Broke: Thought provoking/ open ended questions about Steroid Use?
I just recently watched a documentary “Bigger, Stronger, Faster”, a 2008 documentary film directed by Christopher Bell about the use of anabolic steroids as performance-enhancing drugs in the United States and how this practice relates to the American Dream. After watching it I have to lead a class discussion on it and need some good thought provoking questions that not only relate personally but also strike up deep and maybe even heated discussion/ arguement among students.
I understand this is a lot to ask for and whatever ideas you have are greatly appreciated. It doesn’t have to pertain to the movie at all just about steroids and if America is truly building a better, faster, and stronger athlete. Maybe even questions about America’s approach with dealing with steroids and there hypocritical stand point… one second we are encouraging fierce competition and the next we are arguing about the legal matters of steroid use.
Again any comments (as long as you explain yourself and your opinion), personal experiences, or questions you might want to add are welcome!

Your discussion should include the societal obsession with the quick fix – getting something for nothing – and the eventual consequences of such actions. It’s just not the legal issues that are the problem. It’s the long term health issues.
