Question by akira: What are my chances of getting in NYU?
Well I’m a senior. My gpa isn’t too high, it should be about 3.5 or higher before I graduate. I’ve taken several AP classes. I was in the school’s choir, Key Club, Leos Club (the younger version of the Lions Club), a Social Justice club, and the California Scholarship Federation.
I will be taking the SAT and ACT next month, and have been studying during the summer. I’m interested in filmmaking; but I’m mostly undecided.
Oh and I’m half Filipino, half white, if that matters. The latter would probably hurt my chances though…

I had a 4.0, was the President of the senior class, involved in countless clubs and community service efforts, scored incredibly on SAT’s and SAT II’s, took and passed 4 AP classes and exams, and still wasn’t good enough to get it. My downfall was that I am not in the greatest financial situation and being white and middle class with no disabilities or dead parents gives me little chance for scholarships.
