Question by iloverain2004: what MAJOR should someone who’s interested in PRODUCTION DESIGN take as an undergraduate?
most colleges seem to offer production design as a graduate course.
i’m interested in both costume and scenic design but more focused on COSTUME.
what kind of major would help me earn a secure base for a stage/film costume design course
as a graduate?
Im not interested in getting a degree in fashion design.
and i don’t think i can take drama…i’m not an actress~. (it pains most people to see me act hahah)

Look for Costume Design as an undergraduate major. Many schools with a Theatre Major has Production and Design majors, Costume Design, etc.
For anything within theatre or film, it is very hard to get into. It does help to go to school for it and get internships, but with a life in the arts there is no secure base for anything. I’m not trying to discourage you. I’m telling you the facts.
