Taking art from students is heartless. With the current budget crisis, art programs have been the first to experience devastating cuts; some schools have been forced to remove their art programs entirely. During adolescent years, nothing makes a greater difference in a person’s life than the ability to express oneself. Without art, many students are lost, confused, and miserable. With this film, I set out to show what a different place students’ worlds would be without their artistic expressions. I did all of the concept, camera, and editing myself; however, the statements made belong to the people making them. Special thanks to Ms. Miller, Marinee Payne, Sarah Morawa, and Julie Limerick for lending me their art classes and allowing me to capture their art shows and theatre productions on film. I could not have done this project without them.
