Question by randallo: How much does it typically cost to secure rights to a song for a movie?
I’m an independent student filmmaker and have been dying to include two songs in my upcoming film (K’s Choice “Not an Addict” and Royksopp’s “What Else Is There”). Both are moderately popular songs. I’m wondering how much it usually costs to secure the rights to songs like these for a film?
