Question by gear244: Becoming a successful film Director?
For right now I am way ahead of my self, I’m 16 years old and will complete high school in several months. I need to make a decision on what courses I need to attain in order to meet the pre-requisites expectations of my “future” university. I am planing on going to Concordia which is said to have one of Canada’s best film programs. But I now my chances are slim in becoming a known director. I love films and am willing to assert my self into anything that involves film making, production, cinematography, etc… But I am drawn more towards Directing, it fascinates me. I am not doing this for money or to become famous, but I want to be know for creativity and originality I want my movies to make a difference in how people see the film industry to inspire people. I will pursue this career, but do not want to fail and be left in the gutter. I know it will take hard work, determination, perseverance and a LONG TIME before I( and if I reach my goal) to become a successful director. Is it worth it? What are the chances? I am definitely considering these courses for college and university, but am also considering alternative courses as a back up career which would be quite overwhelming. Any opinions would help, especially negative ones. Thank you
I want my FILMS to be famous, If I could create films and be totally anonymous, no one would know who directed the film, if i know people will enjoy it and it will make a difference I would be happy, proud in a way.
I know I worded that part incorrect on my behalf.
