A short film that came from the creative mind of Neill Blomkamp (Director and 3D Animator), who was set to Direct Hollywood’s latest Film Blockbuster Videogame adaptation “Halo” before it was cancelled. After a Series of live action videos to attempt to revitalise interest in the Halo movie possibility. Blomkamp and Peter Jackson secretly began work on District 9′ District 9 is a movie based on the political satire found in the video short, and is Directed By Blomkamp, with Jackson as Executive Producer. This stellar short film depicts and discusses the apartheid that has been around in the nation of South Africa, through the use of “aliens” and styles resembling a mockumentary. With Fantastic direction, impressive and believable visuals, this short film is one of many of his works that shows that this 27 year old is more than capable of directing a Blockbuster film. However due to difficulties in finding a studio and failures to make their own he later directed a series of shorts entitled “Halo Landfall”. I highly recommend people who enjoyed this go watch that. This is our final 1st year single camera production at Middlesex University. Which is a Mockumentary and deals with the issue of imaginary friends, or in this case an imaginary wife.
