Question by izzy sky: Are there any good documentaries that were filmed in japan?
I like japan, and was wondering if there were any documentaries filmed there. I’m not looking for any war documentaries, or The Cove.
Thanks

I know what you mean. There are a ton of documentaries about Japan dealing with WWII, samurai, ninja, and martial arts. Its all well and good but here is some variety for you, when it comes to Japanese culture check these out:
In my humble opinion BBC’s Japanorama series really captures the corky side of modern japan.

Host Club. A BBC Documentary about the hard life of a host club employee.

White Light Black Rain about the aftermath of the atomic bomb on hiroshima and present day hiroshima. A HBO documentary.

i guess you could watch them on youtube or you could torrent them. i dont know if you can rent them at your local blockbuster. Ive lived in Tokyo for 7 years these docs tell it how it is.
BTW. All filmed in Japan.
Enjoy.
