Question by Tyy N’ Tayy: BEST Film schools in San Fransisco?
I’m interested in studying film, and one of the schools on the top of my list is the Academy of Art University in San Fransisco. I read a few places that it was a great school with a well respected film program, and I live near San Fransisco as it is, so I thought great, this will work out. However, NOW I’m reading that it’s a so-so school, and that there are better, more well respected schools out there.
So, my question is this; are there better schools than the Academy of Art University, and if so, what are they for someone interested in studying film and getting into that industry? Thaaaaanks

The only US film schools possibly worth attending are New York University, University of Southern California, and UCLA.
The UCLA program only admits students at the start of the junior year and almost everyone admitted is a UCLA student with another major or an undeclared major. Most UCLA students who apply are not admitted.
Most graduates of even these three programs do not find steady work in the greatly overcrowded film industry.
The Academy of Art program would be virtually a total waste of time and money.
