Question by Matt Ol: Business – Personal Movie Theater (screening dvd’s) or a Pizza Shop?
Thinking of a business idea that will keep me busy and provide a decent income (not expectations to get rich). I have come to 2 ideas and want some input.
1. Personal Movie Rooms – A decent size location with small/medium sized screening rooms, couches and a nice LCD TV + surround room (sound proof rooms) ranging from single view, couples suite, family deluxe and large group rooms. Movies in mind will be DVD’s only (new release cinema films might be too expensive). Location will have a candy bar and also thinking of getting liquor licence from the premises. Idea came from the love of movies, no expereince in the film industry though.
2. A basic take away/home delivery pizza hut, run solely by myself with the odd casual worker. Nothing too new in comparsion to other pizza shops. 10+ years hospitalty industry experience, restuarant, kitchens (production and commercial), stock taking and pricing, food hygenie etc etc etc. Will do a small business course prior to opening the doors. No on site restuarant, just a few tables (Low cost)
What do you guys think? I would absolutely love to get positiive feed back from the personal movie theater. I saw one in Thailandf about 7 years ago. It was sooooo good to be able to kick back, lay on the couch and blast the movie 🙂 but will something like that be used by the public? Financially I would have to crunch the numbers.
