Question by getshorty75: Can anyone recommend a good beginner’s book on photography?
I’m interested in picking up photography as a hobby. I’m in nursing school right now so I won’t have the time or the resources to take a class on intro. photography. I’m interested in both digital and film, but definitely film (overall). Can any of you art teachers or seasoned photographers recommend any “how-to” type books aimed at neophyte hobbyists? I’m interested in traditional wildlife and nature photography and plan to do a lot of shooting out of doors.

Stay in Nursing school. You will be far more appreciated and in demand.
I suggest Ansel Adam’s “The Negative”. Covers all the basics of exposure. And, yes, much of it will apply to a sensor.
Have fun and heal people.
