Nicknamed “The News Dissector,” independent filmmaker Danny Schechter has released a new documentary, called ‘Plunder’, based on his book, “Plunder: Investigating Our Economic Calamity and the Subprime Scandal”. The film looks at the recent economic calamity from an objective point of view, and touches on all aspects of the crisis; subprime mortgages, the credit crisis, Bernie Madoff, and the role of the government to name a few. The teaser trailer shows clips of regular citizens, businessmen, newscasters and former president Bush discussing the economic crisis. Words like “depression” and “class war” thrown out there, and it is clear that this documentary seeks to get to the bottom of what caused this crisis, and what we can do to get out of it.
