Question by Connor F: Do I have a chance in getting into chapman film program?
I have a 3.4 unweighted gpa, I have been a varsity swimmer for 4 years year round. I have been a student body publicist where I made tons of advertising videos for school events. I have made short school videos as well as a professional project where I interviewed people from Lucas films to see why the American public can stand watching violence in movies. Have taken ap courses and plan on taking a film production class at a college this year. I am very passionate about film and have great story telling abilities. Just wanted to know if I would even have a chance at getting into chapman. Act score 25

Yes. Chapman’s a great program and getting more competitive by the year. One thing they really put a strong emphasis on is storytelling. I believe there is a writing segment to the film school application (or at least there was when I applied) and that is going to be a big selling point. Your GPA seems strong enough and you seem to have a decent amount of previous experience. As long as you know how to tell a good story and write fairly well, I don’t think you’ll have a problem. Also, just a side note, if you get into Chapman but not the film school, I’d go and try and transfer sophomore year. Its actually easier to get into the program that way and you knock out your GE courses during your freshman year so you won’t be far behind anyone else.
