Question by iPod challenged: Help finding a good digital photography/film camera?
I am a high school senior currently taking my second photography class. I have learned from this experience that the camera I currently have is junk. My major in college next year will be film, photography, and visual arts, so I therefore need a good quality digital camera.
Requirements:
-takes still photographs
-allows you to film video
-resolution of 200 or above
-under $ 300
This is not a requirement, but it would also be nice if it used SD memory cards and AA batteries.
Any suggestions? I don’t even know where to start.
Also, let me just note that I’d like it to have manual settings so I can change the aperture and stuff.

I would recommend a digital SLR, but you’re not going to find them for much cheaper than $ 800 right now, and I don’t know if they take video.
Brands like Nikon and Canon are good brands to buy.
