Question by bu: help! i want to study film! bangkok or singapore??
I currently work and i’m planning to resign the end of the month to pursue film studies, I reside in bangkok and i have two options for film school:
SAE (bangkok )
offers a digital film making diploma for 9 months,
the fees for sae is much more expensive and its 9 months
the good side, living costs is cheaper here and id have an apartment, at least i can pay that part on my own.
now Tisch asia ( singapore ) offers a 6 week certificate program, it costs less, and duration is shorter ( that way i don’t have to juggle with work etc), but.. they don’t provide accomodation for students, and i’m not familiar with singapore. I don’t think there would be apartments available for only 6 weeks to rent?!

Studying in Singapore would give you the opportunity to see somewhere that you haven’t seen before, albeit the cost of living is higher there. It is a beautiful country (I have been there). If you plan in advance, you may be able to find a cheap hotel that will rent to you at a discount rate for your extended 6-week duration, or you may be able to find a comfortable dorm accommodation. You may be able to find a homestay or something else.
I would focus on the quality of the programs offered in each location, and the nature of the diploma granted by each. Will the diplomas offered by recognized internationally? If you study in Singapore, will the diploma be recognized in Thailand?
Good luck!
