Question by Außerirdischer: Help with college stuff?
Hello, I am a very confused high school student. I want to get a degree in english and also film production. My dream job is to be part of the film industry and my realistic job is towards being an english teacher. I have strong passion for both. The thing I am confused about is if I go to schools such as UCLA I will have to continue my education in math, science, etc. But schools such as Academy of Arts also offer BA in Film but will not have to continue further education in math, science, etc ( or not?). Is it necessary to take those math, science, etc classes in UCLA or is there a way to only focus on the degree. I am so confused about the whole college concept. No one hardly discuss these stuff w/ me so I have hardly any idea.

Yes it is necessary to take the General classes but don’t worry about it. Your usually only going to take the really easy subjects for science and math if your major of choice isn’t related to the science or math field. I’d say go to UCLA since it’ll will give you more opportunities and options in your career. You can Major in english and Minor in Film or the other way around so you’ll get to study both of your chosen careers.
