Question by Carr: how can i become a filmmaker without college?
filmmakers like quentin tarantino and paul thomas anderson have made it succesfully in the film industry, and they never went to film school but got there educatoin from watching films, i want this for myself, i dont think i need to go to film school, i believe that if i can tell a good story and somebody notices it, then i will have a shot, is this still possible in hollywood?

well… sort of. Being able to tell a good story is just the tip. You gotta have more to offer.
the way to go about doing this method (not going to school) is to get as close as you can to the industry. So if you’re interested in the film industry, move to California if you can. If not find other ways to get yourself into the industry, talk to people, etc. Obviously the “go to hollywood” route is taken by tons of people. Practically every waiter and waitress in Hollywood has plans of being a star one way or another.
However, for filmmakers, I would suggest writing, directing some private films. Enter them into film festivals. Film Festivals are the absolute best way to get publicity and hopefully get noticed.
Also highly recommended. Read books. Watch films. Knowledge is literally power. You have to know how everything works. Know how others before you did things and their background/history. Know which films are good and why they worked. Know how the human mind works.
