Question by Joe B: I really want to work in the movie industry. What are my options?
Hi,
I really want to work in the movie industry. Currently, I am in the 10th grade. At my high school, I am taking both film-related classes that are offerred: Media Arts (make films, animations, editing..)and Cinema (we watch films of certain directors or genres and analyze them and write about them). I was wondering, what jobs are out there in the movie industry? Also, I know there are categories for jobs, like editors, the actual makers, writers and such. What is required for each? How do people in the movie industry who win Oscars and are apart of numerous films get to be where they are now? How do kids become child-actors? Can I do that without much experience or ‘connections’? What path should I take in college. Where can I or should I go for college if I want to be apart of this industry. Any other misc information you could give me, or websites would be great as well =)

Always keep STUDYING and at the same time try being an extra when a movie is being made in your city or town. Try out for commercials, take drama in high school, tryout for plays, and take drama in University.
