Question by Stephen B: I work at a call center and usually get very stressed out before starting my shift… any advice??
Ok first just let me say that I am an aspiring filmmaker who is in the process of getting my stuff together to shoot my first indie project. However I work for a call center at a cable company in the meantime just to survive, etc. Whenever I get there, before I start my shift or before my break ends, I get REALLY stressed out like I DREAD going on those phones, however when we are on the phones, time does seem to go by sort of quick and the fact that we are only allowed to take 1 call at a time as opposed to 2-3 at a time helps a lot.
But sweet jesus, I tell ya… is there some kind of meditating method or any special kind of tea or something you guys could recommend so that I could relax and not be so stressed out?

Just realize that you are only answering calls for a cable company and not a suicide hot line. That might put things into perspective. What you say and do, in the long run won’t really matter all that much. Just do the best you can……….without letting anyone make their problem be so big as to unnerve you. It’s just TV for sweet jesus sake!n
I used to work in a building materials store, and got stressed out whenever I did a delivery order, wanting to make sure it was all PERFECT! Not worth the high blood pressure. There’s a little book called, “It’s all small stuff”, or Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff. You might want to take it to work with you.
