Question by Jackie M: Info about small time production of concrete blocks?
Where can I find extensive information about concrete block production on a small scale? As in for a small business.
I have a source written in spanish but I would like to read up on the subject in English as well.
Are there any pamphlets or manuals written on the topic? If so, are they free and where can I find them? Any gov programs that offer a template for starting a small business fabricating concrete blocks.
Are there any videos or documentaries on the subject?
I am looking for info on blocks used primarily for wall construction (up to two stories.) Portland I cement.
thank you in advance to all those who respond 🙂

I don’t know of any free information on this subject but I can attest to a few important start ups. The biggest expense will be the molds and these would have to be made of a material that would prevent the mixture from sticking to them. Also, keep in mind that you just can’t pour wet cement into a mold without knowing the engineering involved. You have stress and loads to figure into a properly designed mixture, especially for constructing 2 buildings. You may be better off buying the blocks that already have the engineering work completed.
