Taking only classes related to your degree is a technical degree, not a college degree. As a college graduate, you’re expected to be able to read, write, communicate, think, and do math at a college level (although pre-algebra is 8th grade math, not college math). These are the most basic requirements, and you must take those courses to claim to be college-educated. Part of learning how to take those courses is learning how to follow directions, something all your future bosses will expect you to know how to do.
