The expansion of online media, particularly the world of web video-making, has given birth to a new wave of opportunities for filmmakers all over the world. Without the presence of video-sharing sites like YouTube, filmmakers would have to wait for critics and distributors to feast upon their works before ever knowing if they would make the cut. Online video has certainly leveled the playing field for movie industry players out there, and a lot of emergent filmmakers are starting to notice its newfound value.
