Under the patronage of Abu Dhabi Film Festival, Zayed University announced that the second Zayed University Middle East Film Festival will be celebrated on 19 April, 2011 at the Abu Dhabi campus.
The festival aims to highlight students’ talents, encourage students to produce films, develop their skills in directing, filming and production. It aspires to encourage communication between different cultures in the Middle East and opens the door of acquaintance between students participating in the festival. This is also a great opportunity for students to exchange their experience and knowledge about the film world.
The ZUMEFF has received over 60 films from several countries across the Middle East. The submissions are closed and judging has begun. A committee of judges consisting of directors and experts in films will choose the top four films by film classification recognized as the best documentary, best news story, best narrative and best feature film. The reward, 25,000 Dirhams, will be distributed among these winners.
The festival will run for three days starting from 19 to 21 April. During this period, the festival will screen short films produced by students from all over the Middle East.
