Question by NinjaGinga: Put videos from my video camera into iMovie on a Mac?
My brother got a really nice digital video camera for Christmas. For a school project I decided to make a movie. I filmed it all on the camera and it downloads them onto the computer just fine. The problem is that it automatically puts them into Quicktime format and it won’t let me drag Quicktime movies into iMovie to edit them. I am using a new iMac with Leapord operating system and the new iLife. Please help my grade depends on it!

If you told us what camera it is, that would help.
If it is in QuickTime format, it *should* drag over into the clips pane of iMovie. If they are MPEG2 clips, you need to go to apple.com and download/install Stream Clip (it is free).

Also, be advised that lots of folks do not like the new iMovie – and are downgrading back to iMovie HD 6…
