Question by Cris J: Crew for short film? I know where to find them but how should I start?
ugh, excuse me for asking the same questions over and over again. But I finally found a way where I can get directors and other important crew members for my short film. But what I’m stuck on is who should I contact first? A director or another crew member? Who do I contact first in order to start rounding up the actors, camera operators, director(s) etc.

i take it your the producer, well the producer would genrally get a production manager, the production manager can then liase with everyone and start sorting things out, on a small basis you will probably find yourself taking over this role.
Now the prodcution manager is overall responsible for the day to day running of the film organising everyone and maing sure that everything runs smoothly, they also have to sort out things like food, accomodation and transport (if your doing things like that)
I would suggest the next person to get in contact with would be the director find out when he is free, the director will then sort out casting and then you need to sort out when the cast a free and if only certain people are can the director do shots with only those members of the cast. Then sort out the crew.
Remember keep them happy, with sweets everynow and then 😛
