Question by iluvaaron<3: Is a career in the film industry possible for me?
For as long as I can remember I have always LOVED movies, for the longest time I have been dreaming about working in the film industry, and a director, or assistant director. The problem is everyone in my family has in the science field, therefore I have always been encouraged to pursue a career in science, so they put me in loads of science workshops, camps, classes, etc. I have expressed my interest in film many times, and I have enrolled myself in 2 or 3 workshops however, they never let me complete them because they were a “waste of time” ( they would take me for the first 1-2 days of the camp and after that I wouldnt go) I am now a senior in high school,I must soon decide what career path to choose and I am of course going to major in something in science, my parents said I can minor in something if I want to, and this minor could be anything.
I was thinking of minoring in film production or somthing like that. However I feeling since I never really attended any workshops, or camps for this industry I havent really been exposed to it, and I am not as knowlegable about this field as I think I should be.
Is it still possible for me to one day have a career in this industry? Or should I just forget about it?

Most people keep on dreaming about this thing. But you should do it. Doesn’t matter if you don’t have experience or exposure or knowledge. Nobody can tell you exactly how the career in film industry is. You define your own career.
STOP DREAMING AND DO IT!!!! DO IT!!!!! DO IT!!!!!
And PLEASE give me a ticket to one of your films, when you make them.
I also want to make movies but don’t want to get a degree in that. Chances are slim like this but my dreams are not!
