Question by samsterga: Is having a Minor in Econ smart if my major is Film and video?
I realized that if I change my minor from Marketing to Economics I could possible graduate early without taking summer classes or Study abroad, taking only Econ classes in Dublin. But Marketing seems more realistic for a film major. If I stick with Marketing, I’ll have to take a may-mester class, plus hope all next year (fall and spring semesters) that the required Marketing courses and marketing electives are available. Also, not many study abroad programs have marketing classes available. I am planning on going to Grad School for Television and concentrating in the sales of programs. I also want to learn more about how media is distributed through the world and how different broadcast companies function when it comes to ad space and production costs.
Thank you

If you want to have a major in film, then I would suggest getting your minor in Marketing. It would help you better on a resume. If you want to learn more about how media is distributed through the world,,etc, then that’s the way to go. Take the time to take the classes. It’s your life and your career that is ahead of you that is important. Good luck!
