Question by so close: What film school is the best choice for an aspiring director? ( Read my additional details)?
I’ve been wanting to be a filmmaker since the tender age of 8. I’ve been writing scripts since I was 10 (although they were crappy back then). I come from a rough area so I’m VERY self sufficient and am a master of improvisation. I’ve been directing in front of some type of camera since I was 11. I had a 4.3 GPA in high school (advanced placement classes, extra credits) but decided community college was my best choice. I’ve been called a creative genius by spectators, but I think that’s stretching it. Because of my lack of monetary provisions, I have read over 400 books on film and film theory to compensate. Does anyone have any pointers for me to get into my respective field? Thanks all =)

I used to be in your same position. I went to community college for the first year to get the basics over with. Then I went to Southern Methodist University. There are many universities you could go to. Just make sure that it is the one for you.
