Question by J.P.: What is the title of this movie (documentary)?
I can’t find this doc I watched in a film class and I can only remember what it was about. It’s pretty specific and I am surprised that I couldn’t find it based on the content.
Anyway, the film is about a group of filmmakers (two in particular) that are trying to make a horror flick. One of the two main filmmakers gives a good amount of money (around 10k I think) to help the film get made. The filmmaker (director/writer) is a bit of a nut and seems to have a few screws loose. The wife of the other filmmaker gets mad that her husband is using their money on the project and gets her husband to eventually abandon the project. Then (this is so messed up), the husband and the other guy decide to kill the wife. They kill her and eventually get caught and prosecuted. The film was not made by them but was a documentary about their film and their plot to commit murder.
If you know the title of this doc let me know.

Sounds like Ira Levin’s Deathtrap. I saw it on Broadway. It was then turned into a movie, starring Christopher Reeve pre-Superman as the calmer playwright, Michael Caine as the unhinged playwright, and Dyan Cannon as the wife. It was much better as a play, if you ask me, but still fun as a movie.
