They received the Singapore Youth Award, which honours those who contribute significantly to society and excel in their professions, from Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean at *SCAPE yesterday. Their profiles will be exhibited at the heart of the youth precinct in a bid to inspire other youths. Some of them are, however, already well known. Acclaimed film-maker and director Royston Tan, 33, who produced local hits like 15 and 881, got the award for arts and culture.
