always bothered me how people make it seem so easy , to me it really ruins the art of filmmaking and it makes people feel anyone can do it and then they make there first movie and it turns out horrible. I believe us film instructors should tell these aspiring people the truth about what goes into a good film.
Most independent filmmakers are looking for their films to be more cinematic. in order to create a cinematic piece it is nearly impossible to just run and gun, hit record and say action. It takes time to make a good movie, it also takes patience to take your project from concept to screen. Most of these books who advertise these run and gun shooting styles are related to using DV and HD cameras, which suffer already from the lack of the cinematic look. I’m not saying that DV and HD cannot look cinematic but it takes more skill in order to create that true
