Question by shuun_the_non_believer: The design process in animation and short films – Whats the best way to get started and to present your ideas?
So for uni i’m making a short animated film. I have a few ideas but i feel like i have nothing to work from. I like creating sketchbooks with ideas in so that i can portray my ideas in the work checks we have for uni, i think i need to do things like storyboards and mood boards but i was wondering if anyone else had a specific useful way of working?
It feels like im the only animator on the planet sometimes…!!

You start off with a storyline and character list.
You design your characters- poses, facial expressions, dimensions, colors, erc.
From there, you create your storyboards and script that show the movement of the animation.
Then you design backgrounds and start they keyframes of your animation.
Animate, scan in, put together.
That’s how I do it. Hope it helps.
