A stoic and emotionally-stunted man receives dating advice from a creature living inside his cabinet. Tona and I shot this during the winter of 2003/2004 and screened it in April of 2004 for the Wis-kino spring Kabaret. I was given some sort of penalty at a previous screening, so this movie had to incorporate the theme “troll”. This was shot on a low-end camera, so the image is super grainy and not very good. Tona does a great job in this. Brad is awesome. I wish the scenes with the troll weren’t so dark, but there you go. I considered this, along with Elevator, as sort of mini film classes that I was putting myself through, and they really helped me develop my film-making skills. Still, it’s hard for me to watch today, but there are some nice moments (the part with the cat on the table still makes me laugh).
