Question by EGGROLL: What are some good music for a film noir?
My friends and I are making a film noir project for one of our classes. Could you guys recommend some eerie swing music from back in the days? I found “Nightmare” by Artie Shaw, which is really good and it fits the genre of the film perfectly. But I don’t know any other swing music like “nightmare.” Please recommend some!

Gloomy Sunday (aka “the Hungarian Suicide Song”)
Billie Holiday:
From the movie “Gloomy Sunday”:
Harlem Nocturne
Here’s one performance that isn’t too shabby:
Blues in the Night
Here’s Cab Calloway:

Katie Melua takes a bluesier approach:

There are instrumental versions, too.
By the way, “Nightmare” is a great selection! I just can’t get my memory in gear for some similar songs.
