Question by ♪♫: What digital camera should I get?
I’m looking for any digital cameras similar to these, but any that record HD movies with good sound . I take photography classes at school, not digital, but slr film cameras, i’m not all that experienced with digital but I’m looking for a good camera that can last a long time. I kind of like this camera, anything around this price range or lower

Usually the next step after completing classes using a 35 mm SLR is to buy a dSLR body that uses the same lenses that your 35 mm camera does.
When moving from shooting film to digital, all the skills you have are directly transferable … there is nothing more you have to learn except for the fact that you do not have to change film to change ISO’s, or change film to match white balance or use filters to fine tune the white balance.
All the rest is the same.
Buying a P&S camera is going backward. Look instead for an entry level dSLR. At this time the Nikon D3100 has all the features you are asking for, good Full HD video (1080p) and that additional option of being able to auto-focus in the video mode.
NO sound quality is good on a P&S camera. Just a mater of physics.
Some dSLR’s have stereo microphone jacks that can accept high quality stereo microphones, so that is an option.
If your goal is to shoot video, why don’t you buy a video camera?
